Services We Can Offer
Talk Therapy and Counseling can be performed by many different individuals, such as Licensed Mental Health Counselors, Clinical Social Workers and Peer Supports. Licensed Mental Health Counselors are psychological counselors who have a master’s degree (MA) in psychology, counseling, or a related field. A mental health counselor is qualified to evaluate and treat mental problems by providing counseling or psychotherapy. Clinical Social Workers have at least a master’s degree in social work and training to be able to evaluate and treat mental illnesses. In addition to psychotherapy, social workers can provide case management, hospital discharge planning and work as an advocate for patients and their families. Peer Supporters are people with a personal experience of recovery from mental health, substance abuse, or traumatic conditions. These individuals help guide and support their peers who are experiencing similar mental health, substance use or trauma issues toward increased mental, physical and emotional wellness. These individuals work with their peers and are willing to share what he or she has learned about recovery in an inspirational way.
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a psychotherapy that enables people to heal from the symptoms and emotional distress that are the result of disturbing life experiences. Repeated studies show that by using EMDR therapy people can experience the benefits of psychotherapy that once took years to make a difference. It is widely assumed that severe emotional pain requires a long time to heal. EMDR therapy shows that the mind can in fact heal from psychological trauma much as the body recovers from physical trauma.
Psychiatrists are medical doctors (M.D. or D.O.) who specializes in preventing, diagnosing, and treating mental illness. Our psychiatrists specialize in establishing the correct path for your mental health and wellbeing. We have psychiatrists that provide talk therapy and medication prescription and psychiatrists that focus only on medication prescription and management. They will help you decide how to proceed with your treatment and help facilitate any necessary medication.
Healing Touch is an energy therapy in which practitioners consciously use their hands in a heart-centered and intentional way to support and facilitate physical, emotional, mental and spiritual health.
Healing Touch is a biofield (magnetic field around the body) therapy that is an energy-based approach to health and healing.
Healing Touch uses the gift of touch to influence the human energy system, specifically the energy field that surrounds the body, and the energy centers that control the flow from the energy field to the physical body.
These non-invasive techniques employ the hands to clear, energize, and balance the human and environmental energy fields, thus affecting physical, mental, emotional and spiritual health. It is based on a heart-centered, caring relationship in which the practitioner and client come together energetically to facilitate the client's health and healing.
The goal of Healing Touch is to restore balance and harmonies in the energy system, placing the client in a position to self heal.
Healing Touch is widely respected and used in hospitals, hospice, surgery suites, and doctor's offices.
Peer support groups provide an opportunity for individuals who have similar experiences to assist each other in their recovery journeys. Peer specialists model recovery, teach coping skills and offer support to help other individuals dealing with mental health challenges. These peer groups help individuals promote recovery, increase social support, remove mental health stigmas, increase hope, provide education and create social networking for times of need.
Spend time with a Peer Supporter in a 1 on 1 situation. Share your experiences and troubles with individuals from similar backgrounds and experiences. Sessions are confidential and non-judgmental. Sessions can be done via face-to-face, telephone, text or online.
PSYCH-K® is a set of processes, utilizing muscle testing, to quickly and easily communicate with the subconscious mind in order to move past traumatic experiences, physical conditions, mental health issues, unhealthy behaviors, toxic relationships, and/or addictive tendencies. This was brought to life by Rob Williams over 30 years ago and has played a role in developing the field of epigenetics. PSYCH-K® operates off the belief that we are spiritual beings having a human experience and that we are all connected. All human behaviors, positive and negative, originate from the conditioning or programming we have absorbed at the subconscious level of the mind. It is believed that the subconscious mind is almost fully formed by the age of 7, traumatic experiences aside. This means that any relationships you saw, societal influences you were exposed to, or beliefs you subscribed to about yourself and the world around you most likely originated from this point in time. This does not include traumatic or stressful experiences however, which can be imprinted at any point in time because they are such a shock to our systems. Since the subconscious mind only lives in the present moment, this is why PTSD exists. PSYCH-K® can be done in group settings or 1:1 sessions, remotely or in person.
Acupuncture involves the insertion of very thin needles through your skin at strategic points on your body. Traditional Chinese medicine explains acupuncture as a technique for balancing the flow of energy or life force — known as chi or qi (pronounced “chee”) — believed to flow through pathways (meridians) in your body. By inserting needles into specific points along these meridians, acupuncture practitioners believe that your energy flow will re-balance. A key component of traditional Chinese medicine, acupuncture is most commonly used to treat pain. Increasingly, it is being used for overall wellness, including stress management.
Animals can offer an extraordinary amount of emotional support. Beyond the pet-owner relationship that many of us have lovingly experienced, animals are sometimes used in therapeutic settings to help clients navigate challenging emotional experiences. Equine-assisted psychotherapy (EAP) focuses on those with mental or substance use disorders, cognitive issues, and other disorders including PTSD. While still a form of “talk” therapy, EAP allows clients to use multiple senses while identifying and processing emotional issues. The outdoor environment and use of animals lend a unique, positive dimension to the experience. The interaction between horse and client often unlocks blocked emotions, allowing them to be processed and healed. Most participants in Equine Therapy benefit from the unconditional acceptance offered by the horses they work with. We offer both individual and group setting equine therapy.
Want to learn some coping mechanisms to help you through the tough times? We are glad to teach individuals, groups or even entire departments different and effective coping mechanisms.
Intravenous fluid therapy can contain vitamins, minerals and/or medication and is delivered via an IV which allows the therapy to move quickly through your bloodstream. IV therapies are administered by a healthcare professional for a variety of different reasons, from dehydration to medical emergencies. IV therapy can also help address symptoms related to conditions like the cold, the flu, morning sickness, alcoholism and exhaustion from overwork. Once inside your body, the fluid from the IV bag is absorbed directly into the bloodstream. This method typically delivers medication faster than oral administration. The fluids inside an IV bag depends on the type of therapy you are undergoing, such as vitamins, antioxidants and even NAD+. These can be available at multiple locations including your own.

Etienne is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker & Licensed Addiction Counselor in the Denver area specializing in adult psychotherapy.
Trauma, behavioral & substance use addictions, mood disorders, anxiety and depression are a few of the areas she is comfortable with addressing in therapy. She has found a whole, person in environment, strengths-based perspective with a focus on mindfulness-based techniques to be most beneficial for clients and herself in therapy.
Her early career was spent as a chef. As a chef, she focussed on nurturing others with food. In her early 30’s, she decided to change her focus to social work. Etienne attended graduate school at Bryn Mawr College, achieving her Graduate degree in Social Work and Social Research in 2005. At this point she finished her transition of nurturing other with food to nurturing others as a therapist. She focusses on empowering and mindfully supporting others through substance abuse, behavioral addictions, traumatic events, life experiences and adjusting to the struggles of daily life.
Etienne works in both the inpatient and outpatient settings. She has been blessed to have amazing co-workers and clients over the years and feels they helped shape her approach and therapeutic interventions used with her clientele. She feels that she learns more with each individual she works with and they continue to help her with compassion, empathy and being present for others human experiences.
Etienne believes that trauma shapes a persons world view, can cause chaos within relationships, coping, and the ability to manage daily stress. She feels humans cope with trauma in various ways and traditional talk therapy is not always an appropriate or effective method to process trauma. She utilizes EMDR as it is an evidenced based treatment for trauma, anxiety and many other behavioral health experience.
She uses multiple modalities in therapy: Mindfulness, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Dialectic Behavioral Therapy and she is EMDR trained & certified with EMDRIA (EMDR International Association). She has also recently been training in BrainSpotting, another approach to resolving trauma.

Erin Meyers went into acupuncture school because of the profound change acupuncture had on her quality of life. At Southwest Acupuncture College, Erin specialized in sports acupuncture, taking classes in orthopedic anatomy, trigger point acupuncture, and sports medicine acupuncture. She completed a clinical internship at the University of Colorado treating collegiate runners, volleyball players, and basketball players as well as other athletes. Erin also completed three sports medicine specific clinical rotations at the school clinic.
Erin’s personal acupuncture journey started while she was working in a lab at the Institute for Behavioral Genetics and developed a nagging pain in her shoulder. The only solution from the doctor was to take ibuprofen and she was tired of trying to decide every day if her pain was bad enough to take painkillers, or whether she could “just tough it out.” A friend suggested she try acupuncture, so despite being skeptical (She is a scientist after all), she went to see a sports acupuncturist whose office was conveniently close to the lab. Erin actually felt like one giant ache walking out of the treatment room that first time, but it convinced her that this acupuncture stuff really works. After a few visits her shoulder issue cleared up, and with continued treatment so did the chronic headaches from which she constantly suffered. When she decided it was time to make a career change from working full-time at IBG, she went to acupuncture school because of the profound change acupuncture had on her quality of life.
As both an acupuncturist and a scientist, She is constantly educating herself on the latest research and techniques. To that end, she has become certified in Functional Movement Techniques including RockTape kinesiology taping, instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization (IASTM), RockPods, and RockFloss.
Erin is also a Colorado native who loves to dance, knit, make jam, and hang out with her husband, cats, and chickens. She has a Master’s in Biomedical Sciences from Colorado State University and currently teaches Western Pathology as an Associate Professor at Southwest Acupuncture College in Boulder. She is certified as a personal trainer through the American Council on Exercise and as a Level 1 Pole Instructor with the Pole Fitness Alliance.
